DONATION,
It's All About L I F E !
COMMUNITY
Community education is tailored to
fit the needs, interests, and level of the group being addressed. In each case-
whether to the news media, a community group, business or a classroom of school
children- the goal is to provide quality education about organ and tissue donation
in an appropriate manner. In each case, the most important message is simply
this- talk with your family about your wishes for organ and tissue donation
to be certain your wishes will be carried out.
SHARE
YOUR DECISION
The most important part of deciding to be a donor is telling your family. Most
Americans support donation, but few have told family members their decision
to donate. Talking about donation doesn't mean talking about death. It is talking
about the opportunity to give another person a second chance at LIFE. Even if
you have signed a donor card or indicated your wish to donat e on your driver's
license, you need to tell your family since they will be consulted before donation
can take place
DECIDE
AND TELL
If you've decided to make the commitment to be an organ and tissue donor sign
your driver's license or fill out a donor card and TELL YOUR FAMILY of your
wishes.
