Whether you have recently experienced the miracle of transplantation or are on the
national waiting list for an organ transplant, we hope you will find the information
in this section helpful.
With all of the waiting and worrying that you and your family have done, and hopefully
with all of the rejoicing at your second chance at life, you probably aren't aware
of the role that Midwest Transplant Network plays in the transplant process.
Midwest Transplant Network coordinates the procurement of vital organs, tissues
and eyes in hospitals in Kansas and Western and Central Missouri.
Midwest Transplant Network also works closely with the six transplant centers
located within its service area to oversee the care, placement, and transportation
of the donor organ.
While Midwest Transplant Network played a part in your second chance at life,
none of this would be possible without the generosity of the donor family...
the family that gave you your gift... the family who, in their time of devastation
and loss, made the decision to let life go on.
